Our Sunday only religious school is a supportive and fun environment that provides a solid foundation of religious and cultural studies.  Our parents volunteer in the school enhancing the family atmosphere.  Join us for bagels and coffee and a little schmooze too…

Curriculum

For grades kindergarten  through grade 3, the curriculum focuses on basic education of our Jewish culture and tradition using hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons. Third grade students learn to read Hebrew. For Grades 4 through Grade 7 the program takes a more focused approach to Judaic studies and Hebrew. Road to Confirmation programming for our eight through tenth grade as well as Post Confirmation through grade twelve. All classes take place on Sunday mornings only.

Class Times

Kindergarten – Second Grades: Meets Sunday mornings 10:30a.m. – 12:30p.m. Kindergarten students must be 5 by September 30, 2020. Curriculum will include holidays, bible stories, mitzvot, Jewish culture, and Hebrew readiness.

Third Grade: Meets Sunday mornings 10:30a.m. – 12:30p.m. Along with a Judaics curriculum, these students will learn to read Hebrew.

Fourth – Seventh Grades: Meets Sunday mornings 9:00a.m. – 12:30p.m. Curriculum includes Judaic studies, Tefillah (worship) and the teaching of Hebrew in order to read traditional prayers.

Eighth – Tenth Grade Road to Confirmation: Meets biweekly, 9:00 – 10:30 am. Eighth Grade Students will gain a deeper knowledge of basic Judaism. Ninth Grade Students will learn about comparative religions including trips to a Hindu Temple and a Mosque. Tenth Grade (Confirmation) students will participate in a special Confirmation Service at the end of the school year. Post Confirmation:

Grades 11th-12th. Post Confirmation:  Special meetings with the Rabbi 3 times during the school year.  Focus is on thought provoking conversation regarding current events.

Tuition & Fees

All book fees are included.

Tuition fees are not payable at the time of registration. School tuition will be billed with the Temple Beth Torah invoice.

Parents Who Are Teachers: As in prior years, teachers will receive a stipend. This year the stipend will be paid at the end of the school year. Full tuition will be invoiced with your congregational dues.

Administrative Structure

The Religious School Board Chairperson is a member of the Temple Board and the religious school board. The Religious School Board consists of the Chairperson and three members appointed by the Chairperson.
